It’s high summer and the local produce is ripe for picking. Do you know where your local farmers' markets are?
Here are two free online directories to help you find the nearest farmers’ market and more. If you are traveling this summer, these directories can help you eat local when you are out of town too.
- Founded in 1998, Local Harvest is a nationwide “living” public directory of small farms, farmers markets, and other local food sources.
- The Eat Well Guide is an online directory of family farms, farmers' markets, u-pick orchards and more.
E-mail me if you have comments or story ideas. I'd love to hear from you.
