Dennis Quaid is headed to divorce court once again, after filing to end his marriage from his third wife, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid on Friday.

The filing comes six weeks after Buffington-Quaid filed for legal separation. According to the petition, Quaid filed citing irreconcilable differences and has offered to pay spousal support to his future ex-wife.

Quaid and Buffington married July 4, 2004, three years after his 10-year marriage to second wife, Meg Ryan ended. He and first wife P.J. Soles of Halloween and Carrie fame divorced in 1983 after five years of marriage.

The 'Vegas' is requesting joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s 5-year-old twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. The twins, carried by a surrogate after Buffington endured multiple miscarriages, suffered a hospital error just 10 days after they were born. An employee at Cedars-Sinai hospital mistakenly gave them 1,000 the recommended dosage of the blood thinner Heparin. After the incident the Quaids sued the hospital and the drug manufacturer for packaging practices. The suits were settled out of court.

Buffington initially filed a petition for legal separation in March, but withdrew the petition in May, reports UsWeeky. According to TMZ Quaid wait to wait until late November to respond with his divorce petition. The state requires that couples reside in California for at least six months before they can file divorce papers, and the Quaids moved to Los Angeles in May.
