Vegas 'shooting' suspect arrested became a trending topic on the internet this evening after Reuters reported this Thursday, Feb. 28, that Ammar Harris has been charged in the shooting of an aspiring rapper and causing a deadly car crash in Las Vegas this month after being considered a “person of interest” throughout the week.
It was only a few days ago that Ammar Harris made headlines for posting videos on YouTube counting his money and looking unperturbed, despite being considered a top suspect in a recent shooting and subsequent car accident that took place on the Las Vegas Strip only last week.
Now, Harris has been charged with the murder of Kenneth Wayne Cherry, Jr., an aspiring rapper, as well as the deaths of a taxi driver and passenger who were killed after his car slammed into the cab following the shooting.
"We can confirm that the LAPD-FBI task force arrested a fugitive from Las Vegas wanted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department," Los Angeles police spokesman Lieutenant Andy Neiman said.
The official added that the Vegas 'shooting' suspect arrested was none other than Ammar Harris, 26, who had been at the center of a national manhunt since the crash from Feb. 21.
The Las Vegas Police Department concluded their report by adding that Harris has an extensive criminal history, ranging from robbery arrests to sexual assault and kidnapping.
