Famed for her extremely slender body in "Black Swan," Natalie Portman talked with Marie Claire on October 15 about life in Los Angeles and plans for her Paris future. Get the dish on her thoughts about following her plant-based diet in Paris.
During her interview, she proved her devotion to staying fit by hiking with her dog. As for her vices? "I can go into a Food Network hole," she confessed about her fondness for cooking healthy meals.
Natalie has plans to move to Paris at the end of next year, reported E Online on October 15. And those plans also center around her devotion to fitness in the form of dance: Her French choreographer-husband Benjamin Millepied, also a vegan, has been named director of the Paris Opera Ballet.
"When Ben asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, I freaked," she laughed. "Everyone dreams of living in Paris."
But despite her excitement about moving to the City of Light, Natalie is worried about how she'll stay on her plant-based diet, reported Ecorazzi recently.
”I’ve been vegetarian since I was nine and vegan on and off,” said Natalie. “At the moment we live in Los Angeles near Thai Town so we eat a lot of good vegan Thai food and there are also great pasta places nearby – a good pasta is probably my favorite dish. Paris is getting better for vegans – you can get anything there if you know where to look.”
Although she's shifted back and forth from vegetarian to vegan, Natalie returned to her vegan diet in 2009 after reading Jonathan Safran Foer’s bestseller "Eating Animals" (click for details).
