Vegan Drinks Los Angeles hosts their 2013 kick-off event at Little Bar

This Thursday the group Vegan Drinks Los Angeles will hold their 2013 kick-off event at Little Bar. The event begins at 7:00pm and serves as a social meet up to connect like-minded individuals in the Los Angeles area who have adopted, or are interested in adopting, a vegan lifestyle. Those who are interested in attending are asked to RSVP on the Vegan Drinks Los Angeles Meetup website so that enough food can be provided.

Vegan Drinks events occur all across the country, primarily in major cities, to bring together vegans or the vegan-inclined through monthly meet ups at local bars. The Vegan Drinks Los Angeles Meetup group has been established since 2008 and works to host monthly meet ups at bars throughout Los Angeles. Vegan Drinks Los Angeles also encourages non-drinkers to attend as well (Source).

Little Bar—where this month’s event will be held—has a fully stocked bar. Food options of the event include: Plant Food For People, who will be bringing vegan jackfruit tacos; Southern Fried Vegan, who will be outside during the event; and Muse on 8th, a vegetarian café next door to Little Bar (Source). Little Bar itself does not have a kitchen but patrons to bring in external food (Source). While non-vegans can attend this event, Vegan Drinks Los Angeles asks that all food eaten at the event be free of animal products.

Little Bar has 18 beers on taps “predominately employed with craft beers”, and a list of creative cocktails made with soju vodka, soju rum, and soju tequila (Source). There is a jukebox with over a thousand songs, and dartboards available for play. Metered parking along La Brea street is available, as is $5 parking at the nearby Bank of America at the intersection of La Brea and Wilshire.
