Vegan chewy cherry almond bark recipe

Many individuals love to give the gift of food and vegans are no exception! While candy-making can be intimidating, almond bark is quite possibly the easiest form of candy to make. It's also a great treat to start with if candy making appeals to you and you no not where to begin!

The following recipe results in a softly textured, sweet and filling bark high in antioxidants and flavor. It can be made at any time of year but may melt during warmer months!


  • 8 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate

  • 3 to 5 Tablespoons milk or soymilk

  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar

  • 2/3 cups slivered almonds AND dried cherries


  1. In a small saucepan on low to medium heat, melt the chocolate with 1 tablespoon of the milk. Continue to add milk to the chocolate, 1 tablespoon at a time, until fully melted. The chocolate should have a smooth consistency.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or into a parchment lined 8x8 inch pan. Smooth the melted mixture to a desired thickness and smoothness.

  3. Let cool in your refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes or until solid. Break into pieces and serve!

Makes an approximately 8x8 inch sized square.


Note: If giving as a gift, place the bark pieces inside a tin or container cushioned with wax or tissue paper.
