Chicago VeganMania, our region’s largest all-vegan festival, will be happening this year for the fourth year on Saturday, September 29, at a new location, Edhewater's Broadway Armory, 5917 N. Broadway. Details will be released soon but expect great speakers, cooking demos, entertainers, vendors and more at CVM 2012. CVM organizers have put a lot of work into put it together every year and keeping it free of charge as a way to spread the message of compassionate living to the most people possible. Putting on an event of this scale is very expensive, of course. One way to support CVM’s contribution to Chicago’s vegan scene is pretty painless: eat baked treats.
The CVM vegan bake sale is this Saturday, August 18 from 1:00 – 5:00 at Greenheart Shop, 1911 W. Division in Wicker Park. A non-profit shop devoted to stylish, Fair Trade, ecologically produced goods, Greenheart has generously offered to open their space to the CVM bake sale. (Thank you, Greenheart!) Not every shop gives back as freely as Greenheart.
What will you find at the CVM bake sale? Goodies from Kat's Hot Cakes, Dave’s famous raised doughnuts with whipped vanilla frosting, whoopie pies, three varieties of hemp ice cream, cupcakes galore, brownies, turnovers, rice crispy treats, cookies, scones and muffins, including gluten-free varieties. Please join us and share with your friends. It’s going to be a great sale! Also, please remember to bring cash, especially small bills, as CVM will not be able to receive checks.
See you there!
