Vegan baby-back ribs

Baby-back ribs

  • 3 c vital wheat gluten flour
  • 1 c whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1/3 c extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 c bragg liquid aminos, tamari or soy sauce
  • 1/3 c bbq sauce 1 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1 c vegetable broth
  • 6 bamboo chopsticks
  • 1 c extra bbq sauce (for baking and basting)

Preheat oven to 350F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, mix together wet ingredients.
Combine the two and knead for 5 minutes; then let rest for 20 minutes.
Shape mixture into large rectangle, about 5x10”.
Insert bamboo at equal distances from eachother throughout.
Pour ½ c bbq sauce into the bottom of a baking pan; place ribs into pan.
Spread the other ½ c of bbq sauce over the top of the ribs.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 90 minutes.
