If you missed your chance to take part in last month's ice fishing tournament at Rifle Gap then you're in luck. On Saturday, February 11th Vega State Park will be hosting their very own ice fishing tournament.
This one day family event is sponsored by the Collbran Lions Club and will have the same rules and regulations as the Rifle Gap tournament. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish caught during the day in both adult and youth categories. Remember that you need a valid Parks Pass and Fishing License to participate in the event.
The folks at the Colorado State Parks also want to issue a friendly reminder to all fishermen to use common sense when taking to the ice. If you are unsure about ice safety please check out the following link for all the information you need! http://parks.state.co.us/Pages/IceSafety.aspx
You can check out the rules and regulations, get directions to the lake and download a copy of the registration form here: http://www.vegalodge.com/Lions_Fishing_Tournament.html
This will be a fun family event and a great way to support our Colorado State Parks and the Collbran Lions Club.
