Designer Olivier Rousteing recently presented his stunning Balmain Spring/Summer 2014 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week Womenswear at the Grand Hotel Intercontinental pulling all the stops to present a very Parisian collection…
Balmain Spring/Summer 2014 is all about the quintessential Parisian suit, also favored by designers such as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, using houndstooth and quilted fabrics.
To that Olivier Rousteing adds gorgeous blouses in matching solid and houndstooth fabrics as well as lace to be on-trend, chunky basketweave style jackets with varsity collar, blue denim, dungarees (yes, with pants and skirts and in all sorts of fabrics!) marabou feather skirts and pretty lace embellished cocktail dresses.
In particular, Balmain offers several gorgeous cocktail dresses including the pale mint green dress with lace overlay, houndstooth and flowers to achieve texture and layering.
Footwear in this collection is primarily gold-toed ankle boots, while accessories include broad belts with golden chain insets and thick chain chokers.
Favorite suits from this Balmain Womenswear Spring/Summer 2014 collection include the quilted cream suit with gold buttons, the chambray blue denim skirt suit, a pink striped skirt teamed with a checkered top and a very classic-looking black and white houndstooth suit with large gold buttons, which was teamed with a matching houndstooth blouse, a broad belt and gold toed ankle boots.
Similarly, there is a cadet blue houndstooth suit with a varsity jacket collar, also teamed with matching cadet blue boots with gold toes and a cadet blue blouse.
This very polished Balmain S/S 2014 collection caters to those seeking a sense of refinement and those who have the means to acquire it. Olivier Rousteing delivers for Balmain S/S 2014!
