Weekends Sept. 26 – Oct. 13: Harvey – Presented by the Navasota Theatre Alliance in Navasota, Texas. The classic play about an invisible rabbit….or is he?
Weekends Sept. 28 – Nov. 10: Dewberry Farm Fall Festival – Dewberry Farm is located in Brookshire, Texas, near Houston. If you’ve never had fresh dewberries, you’ve missed out.
Weekends Oct. 3–19: The Laramie Project – Presented by StageCenter in Downtown Bryan, Texas. Play about the brutal slaying of Matthew Shepard in 1998 and the community where the killing took place.
Weekends Sept. 27 – Oct. 13: Les Miserables – Presented by The Theatre Company of BCS in Tejas Center. Not sure why theater companies always want to do this one, but they do! Take your tissues.
Oct. 4: First Friday in Bryan, Texas. Lots of activities during this monthly celebration from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Downtown Bryan. A magic show at Grand Stafford Theater, early, with live music later. Improv music at the Palace Theatre, free movie (A Bug’s Life), and the start of the Grand Slam Poetry Festival. Something for everyone.
Oct. 4–5: Dime Box Black Bridge Festival & Mini Marathon – In Dime Box, Texas, of course! barbecue, parade, vendors, mini-marathon, street dance, 42 tournament (only in Texas!), live music, and more. Sponsored by Dime Box Lions Club.
Oct. 4: Texas Twang Band – At the Western Club Bar and Grill in Navasota, Texas
Oct. 5: Wheelock Pioneer Days – Starts early at 9:00 a.m. in Wheelock, Texas. Barbecue, Aggie Wrangler demonstration, and other exhibitions, vendors, shootout, auction, and more.
Oct. 5: Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys – Boot-scootin’ music at the Western Club Bar and Grill in Navasota, Texas, with a little Cajun music thrown in.
Oct. 4–5: Texas Grand Slam Poetry Festival – More than 40 poets at various locations around Downtown Bryan, Texas. Advance tickets recommended but you can buy at the door. Sponsored by Mic Check, The Brazos Valley Arts Council, and Maroon Weekly.
Oct. 4–5: 8th Annual Boonville Days – The living history “portal into the pioneer days of Texas” at Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. The 5th Annual Buffalo Stampede 5K and Half-Marathon takes place early Saturday morning.
Oct. 5: Wienerfest – One of the best times there is for dogs and dog guardians. Held at Wolf Pen Creek Park in College Station, Texas. Lots of fun for wiener dogs, wanna-be wieners, and the people who love them. Sponsored by Aggieland Humane Society.
Oct. 6: 10th Annual Buddy Walk – Fundraiser for Down Syndrome Association of the Brazos Valley, held at Wolf Pen Creek Park in College Station, Texas.
