Varèse Sarabande Records recently celebrated 35 years of releasing film music with an orchestral concert at the Warner Grand Theatre. The concert featured memorable scores from Hollywood’s holiday classics to seasonal film favorites including Elf, Home Alone 2, A Christmas Carol, Rise of the Guardians, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Award-winning film composer John Debney was the guest conductor and he performed music from his holiday film score Elf as well as songs from John Williams' Home Alone soundtrack. In addition, there was a world premiere concert adaptation of A Christmas Carol which aired on CBS in 1954 with a score by Bernard Herrmann with lyrics by Maxwell Anderson.

Also on the program was music from Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas prepared by composer and orchestrator William Ross and featured world-renowned flutist Sara Andon.

The Golden State Pops Orchestra and Chorale, with Maestro Steven Allen Fox staged the concert and Varèse Sarabande executive producer Robert Townson hosted and narrated the event.
