Vans House Parties Announced for Summer 2014

Vans House Parties return to Williamsburg, Brooklyn this summer for the fourth annual series launching Thursday, June 12 with Charles Bradley's raw soul and Mac Demarco's tender indie folk.

Over the past three summers, Vans House Parties have given audiences free shows with respected and rising indie headliners. The series' concerts often sell out in less than a day. The first two of six shows have been announced so far for Summer 2014.

In coming weeks, Vans and the series' co-sponsor, FYF will announce acts for the remaining four shows in July and August. Organizers will also announce the dates that RSVPs will open.

In coming days, concertgoers can anticipate Charles Bradley's incredible vocals that tear through the decades he's waited to get his break. The 65-year-old Brooklyn crooner is just getting his break in small venues across the country.

Mac Demarco shares the bill with Charles Bradley on June 12. His softer voice swings like Beck's over sweet alt rock. Both headliners have been watched closely by critics and music fans in the last year.

Benjamin Booker, a more upbeat rock act will play House of Vans earlier in the evening with some fun guitar technique that sounds promising on his first single, "Violent Shiver" released earlier in May.

One week later on Thursday, June 19, STRFKR, Poolside and Chrome Sparks will play the second Vans House Party of Summer 2014. The acts have nice harmonies over guitar, trop rock vibes and some interesting experimental sounds going on, respectively. Both of the first two Vans House Parties for this summer have already sold out.

Those wishing to attend the last four Vans House Parties in 2014 should keep posted to the series' website, where RSVP details will be updated. Users can also follow follow Vans on Instagram and Twitter.
