Simple, elegant, classic and always-in style are only some of the adjectives that could be used to describe the 40 honorees that include women, men, couples, originals, professionals and editor’s picks of the 2014 Vanity Fair Best-Dressed List, some so nice, they made the cut twice. Those that are doubly delightful according to Vanity Fair are actress Cate Blanchett, Italian reporter Beatrice Borromeo, royal H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, actress Michelle Dockery, Audrey Gelman, VP of SKDKnickerbocker, Vanessa Getty, Founder of San Francisco Bay Humane Friends, royal H.M. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o, actress Emmy Rossum, retired bullfighter Miguel Baez, NFL New York Giant Victor Cruz, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, actor Idris Elba, artist Jeff Koons, NHL New York Ranger Henrik Lundqvist, actor Eddie Redmaybe, musician Pharrell Williams, and designer and blogger Claudia Adaszewska.

Vanity Fair’s best-dressed issue also has a highest honor, the Hall of Fame, for those honorees that have displayed impeccable style and have appeared numerous times on the list throughout the years. This year designer Karl Lagerfeld, retail tycoon Stacey Bendet and H.R.H. the Duchess of Cambridge and new mum (who has appeared four times previously) all have been inducted for their polished looks and indomitable fashion sense.
