Vania Larissa, Miss West Kalimantan, was crowned Miss World Indonesia 2013 on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Jakarta International Expo. Vania is 17 years old from Pontianak and fluent in English and Mandarin. Vania will represent Indonesia in the upcoming Miss World 2013 beauty pageant on September 28, 2013. At total of 33 women competed in this year’s pageant and the remaining finalists were: Shinta Sapphira (first runner-up), and Jovita Dwijayanti (second runner-up). The remaining top five finalists were: Claudia Marcia, and Yemima Hutapea.
A few special awards were given during the competition: Miss Internet was awarded to Nadhira Titalia, Miss Prettiest Skin was given to Claudia Marcia, and Miss V-Fresh was presented to Marsha Pical.
This year was the ninth year for the Miss Indoneisa Pageant and it was hosted by Daniel Mananta and Javier Justin. The reigning Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu was a special guest during the event.
