It might not have been the “Miracle on 34th Street” that involved Santa, but prizes and surprises were involved (see below for Crocs giveaways.) The media was delighted to see a change over from the traditional Crocs popular with young children, to new designs and a more fashionable shoe for adults with the established Crocs comfort. Vanessa Lachey, fresh off her recent Parents' spread, posed on the red carpet with a trendy pair of black and cream-colored Crocs ballet flats, visible in the slideshow.

Following her ceremonial duties, the gorgeous and gracious Vanessa Lachey discussed her Crocs with the Long Island Women’s Style Examiner. The 33-year-old actress, model, television host and mom of 17-month-old Camden confessed she wanted a pair of Crocs because her, “son loves them. They make shoes for women, so I should try a pair myself.” When asked what it was about the shoes that she liked best, her answer was that of any mother of a toddler, how easy the footwear is.

They’re easy. Being a mom, a wife, a girlfriend and working and all of the aspects of my life, anywhere I can find easy, I’m all about it. These are easy for my family, so why not for me!

And Vanessa Lachey’s “why not for me” declaration was the consensus of all that attended the Crocs 34th Street Grand Opening. While the traditional clog was rampant in an assortment of colors, some with the “I Love NY” logos and others that have become a favorite for kids featuring the “Star Wars” insignia, the versatility of the footwear’s new line excited the crowd. Crocs’ new designs for men and women took hold of all the latest fashion trends and blended style with the same comfort the shoe brand is renowned for. Feet feel airy in wedges, sandals, loafers and ballet flats with a selection of over 300 pairs to choose from.

The festivities didn’t culminate with the ribbon and Crocs cake cutting ceremony. As with any grand opening celebration, Crocs was giving away fabulous prizes all day to honor the street that houses its newest location. There is still time to cash in on fun New York City experiences that include a helicopter ride around the Big Apple, tickets to a Yankees’ game with a backstage tour, dinner packages, spa days and more. A winner is selected every 34 minutes past the hour. The Crocs extravaganza on 34th Street ends tonight at 9:34. Before Vanessa left the Crocs' flagship store in New York, she crafted a Crocs backpack at the Jibbitz bar for son Camden, and purchased shoes for the baby and husband Nick Lachey.
