Vanessa Bell Armstrong will be honored at "I Hear Music in the Air Conference'

Gospel mainstay Vanessa Bell Armstrong will one of the honoree at The Legends Ball held May 17 during the 2014"I Hear Music in the Air Conference." Armstrong will be honored with the Music Ministry Lifetime Achievement Award. Stellar-Award winner Pastor Charles Jenkins will be the keynote speaker.

Vanessa Bell Armstrong made her debut in 1983 with the album "Peace Be Still." The title track went on to become a signature song for Armstrong. Her second album "Chosen" hit #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. The singer has continued to create several albums over the years and also appeared on Broadway in 1991.

The ball will feature music Tamela Mann and spoken word by Tia Yarbrough. Other honorees include Carl Westmoreland with the Historian Achievement Award, Inspirational Baptist Church – Bishop Victor S. Couzens with the Church Spotlight Award, Mr. & Mrs. Eric & Cassandra Robinson with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Dr. O’Dell Owens with the Community Service Award.

The I Hear Music in the Air Conference will take place May 16-18. Opening night kicks off with The Urban Soul Café on Friday, May 16 featuring Earnest Pugh, Mr. Del & Holy South, Sean C. Johnson and Sensere along with spoken word artists, Tia Yarbrough and Jay O’Speaks. The Café will take place at the host hotel, The Radisson Cincinnati North Hotel Sharonville.

Workshops Take place Saturday, May 17 from 10-11:30 a.m. and a young adult summit takes place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and features Joshua Rogers, BRL Chicago, Jillian Ellis, Kaleb Starr and more. The feature concert will take place on Saturday, May 17 at The Inspirational Baptist Church, doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. The conference will conclude with The Legends Ball at The Sharonville Convention Center.
