Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd of "Vanderpump Rules" and "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" are in the news again for their ongoing legal issues. The pair just can't catch a break when it comes to lawsuits. Now Vanderpump is making headlines because of an alleged attempt to pay off her former employee according to a Sunday report by TMZ.
Former employee of the Vanderpump restaurant Villa Blanca is suing Vanderpump, Todd and their restaurant for a total of $5 million. Karina Bustillos alleges that she was sexually harassed by the restaurant manager (whom she is also suing) and that she went to Lisa for help. Instead of taking the complaint seriously, Bustillos contends that Lisa wouldn't even listen to her complaint.
Karina Bustillos says that the restaurant manager called her names, used foul language and put his hands on her. She says he grabbed her by her wrists and twisted them. Vanderpump contends that Govia has been her employee for years and has a clean track record. She's never had complaints like this about him before.
According to Vanderpump, Bustillos is an ex-employee who had a "falling out" with Govia. She says that there is no merit to the suit and that the woman is just trying to make a quick buck. When asked about the allegations Lisa told TMZ, "Of course I take that seriously. We've looked at all the cameras and there's no sexual harassment. ... This is just a disgruntled employee."
The trial is set to start Monday and Bustillos is suing for $5 million for sexual assault and battery. In an attempt to shut the whole mess down, Lisa Vanderpump offered Bustillos a chance to settle for $40,001. The offer must be accepted before the start of the trial or it will be taken off the table.
