The Vancouver Web Fest was Canada's first festival to celebrate both International and local web series. Founded by executive director, Suzette Laqua, in 2013 when her then current project, Last Chance Casting, became an official selection at the 2013 LA Web Fest.

After the realization that there wasn't a festival for web series in Canada, Suzette did a little more research and made the decision to bring a web fest home to Vancouver.

On Friday, May 2nd, 2014, at the Imperial Vancouver, red carpet rolled out, velvet ropes strategically placed around the Step and Repeat, photographers snapped shots of each guest upon their arrival like the paparazzi.

The evening was a huge success with a fantastic turnout, including visitors and guests from around the globe, thanks to the hard work and organizational expertise of Suzette, her VWF team, and their volunteers.

Entertainment included the comedy stylings of comedian Morgan Brayton, which were followed by raffles and a performance by songstress, Rachael Chatoor. Music and dancing continued on into the early hours of the next morning.
