When Kevin Reynolds from North Vancouver took the Silver medal for Figure Skating at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, social media users were quick to congratulate him. His win adds another medal for Canada’s Olympic team.

Facebook messages pour in for skater Kevin Reynolds

In response to a photo on the CBC Olympics Facebook page showing Canada’s figure skating team, including Kevin Reynolds, there are a few inspiring comments. Katherine D. writes, “WTG team! So proud of you!”

And, viewer Bing B. comments, “proud to be Canadian!! Go team Canada go…” Adds Kris M., “He was great and should have won! The judges should be ashamed for putting the Russian first with that program!”

Twitter love for Canada’s own Kevin Reynolds

On Twitter, the enthusiastic responses are streaming in for Reynolds’ silver medal finish in figure skating. When the Globe and Mail’s Twitter account released the Tweet of his win, including a photo of the young skater from Vancouver, The message was favorite 70 times within the first 18 hours. It was retweeted 54 times, as well!

As the local Province newspaper wrote on their Twitter feed, “The silver lining behind North #Vancouver’s Kevin Reynolds taking one for the team.” There were Tweets sent from across Canada by fans who witnessed his win in figure skating at the 2014 Sochi Olympics Games.

It was indeed a proud day for Vancouver as local Kevin Reynolds took the silver medal in figure skating for Team Canada. Social media support for the young skater echoed the proud feeling amongst his fellow Canadians.
