If you thought the closest you could get to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics was standing huddled with your neighbors watching the torch relay pass through your hometown, you haven't heard of the Canada CODE.

CODE, the Cultural Olympiad’s Digital Edition, invites Canadians young and old to share their own stories at www.vancouver2010.com/code for a chance to be part of the Olympic Games.

How to get involved

Photos, art, film and other creative pieces are being accepted as part of an online digital scrapbook. The best content will be selected and shown on screens in Vancouver and Whistler for visitors and athletes to enjoy throughout both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Canada CODE also invites participants to respond to weekly challenges offered by celebrated Canadians, which anyone can respond to in words or pictures.

Visitors to the website can also answer a series of fun either/or questions, including whether one prefers a toboggan over an inner tube. The resulting answers will provide a unique look at the pulse of Canadians.

The Games have always been for everyone, and this innovative project allows Canada, one of the most wired nations in the world, to connect from coast to coast, and its citizens to share both their diversity and their shared stories.

With the Olympic flame currently whisking its way across the country and toward Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Games, Canadians young and old are caught up in the Olympic Spirit. Canada’s CODE further unites the nation from coast to coast through the magic of Canadian-created art, while at the same time allowing the world a unique glimpse into the lives of the host nation of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

If you would like to share your own photos and stories, visit http://canadacode.vancouver2010.com/explore

Not Canadian? Canada CODE invites you to upload and share your own stories, and to explore Canada through this collaborative art project.
