Manchester United have announced that star striker Robin van Persie will miss four to six weeks with a sprained knee sustained in the Olympiakos match on Wednesday night.

The Dutchman was responsible for all three United goals in the round of 16 tie with the Greek champions that allowed the hosts to progress to the quarterfinals.

David Moyes will now have to consider changing things up within his favored rigid 4-4-2 look. Options for replacing van Persie include possibly introducing Danny Welbeck or Javier Hernandez, or for a structural change, playmaker Shinji Kagawa could be utilized as well.

Manchester United face crosstown rivals Manchester City next week, and will also wish they had van Persie at their disposal for the upcoming Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
