It has become increasingly clear over the past few weeks that Obama’s appointment of Van Jones as his ‘Green Jobs Czar’, also known as the ‘Special Advisor for Green Jobs’, was an extremely big mistake. As his radical past unravels before the country, or at least those in the media who are actually reporting on this very important person in the administration (ABC and NBC are NOT reporting on this), it is obvious that Van Jones does not belong anywhere near the White House never mind making any type of policy that is going to affect millions of Americans.
In case you’ve had your head buried in the sand (or watch the above stations) for the past few weeks, a lot of information has been coming to light about Van Jones regarding his radical behavior in the past. There are provable statements in writing and video all over the internet, everything from outrageous racist accusations about white people to his embracing communism and of course the ‘9/11 Truther’ conspiracy. Within 24 hours Van Jones issued two statements apologizing for his past behavior, one for calling Republicans ‘assholes’ (personally I have called some of them worse so this isn’t a big deal however unprofessional it may be):
"I apologize for the offensive words I chose to use during that speech," Jones said in a written statement to Politico. "They do not reflect the views of this administration, which has made every effort to work in a bipartisan fashion, and they do not reflect the experience I have had since I joined the administration."
He also apologized for signing a ‘9/11 Truther’ petition in 2004; however Rense.com has discovered that he was part of that movement since 2002. He has since apologized for that as well:
“In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration – some of which were made years ago. If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize. As for the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.”
The White House has refused to discuss Van Jones other than the ‘Truther’ statements:
“Gibbs refused to discuss the Van Jones allegations, saying only that the “Truther” statements are not something the president agrees with and confirming that Van Jones continues to work in the administration.”
At the end of July I discovered the ‘Czar Act of 2009’ on Representative Kingston’s website, the importance and urgency of this Act passing is necessary more now than ever. From the United States Constitution - Article II, Section 2 :
“[The President] shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.”
Van Jones is not the only radical that Obama has knowingly appointed. More information seems to trickle out daily about some of the unvetted Czars that he has appointed. It is up to Americans to push this issue with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and force this Act to a vote. Any Democrat or Republican worth a dime will have to vote YEA on this Act because Obama is circumventing their power by appointing numerous Czars to make policy. Every Democratic pundit I have seen comment on Van Jones agrees that he should resign. Every Democrat in Congress should also agree that all Czars need to be vetted.
It is imperative and crucial that the ‘Czar Act of 2009’ be passed. It is imperative that Congress does not do a half-assed job of vetting Obama’s radical appointees. It is crucial that we follow the Constitution. It is obvious that Americans have to direct Congress to do the right thing for this country. Remember, we elect them and our hard earned tax dollars pay their salaries. Regardless of what some of the members of Congress believe, they DO, in fact work for us, not the other way around. Americans have an obligation to themselves, their children and their grandchildren to protect the Constitution from the politicians that seek to unravel it. Congress will be back in session next week. Anyone reading this article knows exactly what needs to be done.

40 plus virtual equivalents of cabinet-level posts and counting. No requirements for approval by the Legislative branch, thus circumventing the time-honored system of checks and balances. What is wrong with this picture? Like so many leftists, the communist Van Jones likes to take out his ignorance and wave it around like a flag of honor. He's supposed to know something about energy, yet stated in a speech that "we are still running our cars on dead dinosaurs". Even if you subscribe to the biogenic theory of petroleum origin, you'd believe that these substances were formed from vegatative matter, not extinct animal remains. The abiogenic theory is gaining popularity among scientists. It is quite likely that petroleum is a result of strictly geological processes. Mr. Jones neither knows nor cares about science, as his only concern is how to turn the U.S.A. into another third-world communist failure.
Thank God they are doing their jobs this needs to pass on the NOW . We are in great danger as a nation and we need to remove this cancer in our white House.
Its amazing that these people got this far. We are in big trouble. God help us.
Jones has been presenting himself as some kind of reformed radical, mainstreamed by the left because of his emphasis on "Green Collar Jobs." But as many have pointed out, Jones has a childish understanding of the free market. By emphasizing green at the expense of coal, oil, and gas, the number of jobs lost in those sectors will dwarf any gains made in solar, wind, or other industries. Instead of a "green revolution," will will have depression era unemployment.
But that's what happens when you put communists - er, excuse me, former communists - in charge of a huge sector of the economy.
Let's get a pool going to see how long Obama hangs on to Jones. I say he's gone by Monday at the latest. What's your guess?
The members of Congress should be at least as annoyed about all these czars as we are. The czars bypass Congress and reduce it's power. If there's one thing all government officials fear and detest it's someone reducing the power of their office. With this in mind, when we write to our senators and "representatives", we should approach it from the this standpoint and appeal to their overblown egos. We should also remind them that it's their job to represent their constituents and they can't do that if the president and his czars reduce them to impotent figureheads.
What the hell does any of this have to do with his qualifications to run a green energy post? Like always, Republicans, the party that fought child labor laws and segregation, are backwards loons who don't believe global worming is real and who just want to scare up imaginary hobgoblins... which in fact come from their own minds. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
global warming... sorry, typo
Van Jones is only ONE of MANY examples of czars with power and staff to do whatever they damn well please without any congressional oversight. The Republicans must press this bill to ensure that the Democrats have to show whether they want to relinquish all control to Obummer. If they do, they will be equally responsible (with the pres) for the resulting disaster. And as far as what this has to do with Van's qualifications to be responsible for Green Jobs - WHAT QUALIFICATIONS? He wrote a book! Big Deal.
One Czar down many more to go-------Adios Van Jones! He resigned today. ( Sunday)
This shows the real truth about power in DC. It tends not to lie with those elected or confirmed but with those in the shadows--advisors, staff, etc.
Got something to say?
