Gateway Pundit has now uncovered proof that, despite his protestations to the contrary, Van Jones has been a "9/11 Truther" as far back as January 2002.
Jones served on the "organizing committee" for a group formed in January 2002, calling for answers to questions such as the following:
Why were no fighter planes dispatched to intercept the four hijacked planes on September 11th, in violation of standard procedures? Who actually was in control of the "hijacked planes"? Why is the evidence being destroyed when an investigation of the World Trade Center collapse is needed? Did the CIA have foreknowledge of the attack, who tried to profit with put options on American, United, Merrill Lynch stock just before the attack?

I've been saying this for years: if you sincerely believe that agents of the United States government in general, and the President in particular, actually supervised the death of 3000 of your fellow citizens, then it is your duty and moral obligation to either renounce your citizenship and flee the country, or engage in armed revolt.
Failure to do either reveals you, as a "9/11 Truther," to be nothing more than a gutless poseur and a moral exhibitionist, easily thrilled by the dubious frisson of risk-free coffeehouse radicalism. You are beneath contempt.
As Mark Steyn quipped yesterday while sitting in for Rush Limbaugh: If Van Jones really believes that "9/11 was an inside job" -- to cite the ubiquitious bumber sticker -- "Well, he's inside now. Let him investigate!"
Indeed: with his access to classified documents, shouldn't Van Jones be playing the part of Daniel Ellsberg in all this, heroically revealing evidence of George Bush's sinister plot for all the world to see...?
That he's done no such thing tells you all you need to know about him: Van Jones is either a cowardly opportunist, a cynical liar, a lunatic, or all three.

Because a source with "pundit" in its title, is most certainly a credible source of information. This article made me laugh out loud.
The questions you reference above are indeed legitimate questions - and one need not be a truther to want answers to them.

Van Jones is absolutely right to reject the official narrative of what happened on 9/11. It was a false flag operation designed to enrage the normally peace-loving Americans into supporting a series of wars in the middle east. Do a youtube of WTC7, and watch it fall at freefall acceleration. There are also pilots, former ATC, former government insiders, firefighters and many others who have formed similar groups! Signing that petition does not make you a "Truther". It just means he was questioning the full story. How is that a big deal? Do you realize there are sitting congressmen right now who believe the earth was created in 7 days? Seriously, the things people get upset about sometimes blows my mind.

After the Jones controversy reached a boiling point on Friday, the Washington Post published a story, "White House Says Little on Embattled Jones," on page A-3 of its Saturday edition. But the New York Times remained silent on the story.
Likewise, on Friday night the "CBS Evening News" reported the Jones matter, but ABC's "World News" and "NBC Nightly News" again failed to report the story.

I think that Van Jones is a patriot when asking himself about the 9/11 dramatic events. As there has been no real investigation, it is worth and logical asking for an independent one. Until now Obama had no courage to launch it ; and I think he will not.
I do not know what happened on 9/11, but I know something : the official version is obviously fake. One just has to think a little bit to see that too many elements of the official story are too weird to be true. For example:
* the pristine passport of one terrorist was found around WTC on the ground, whereas the four undestroyable flying recorders were not found
* the 2 planes which crashed into the WTC-1 and -2 made them collapse, as that crashed into the Pentagon did a single, little hole, before the front wall collapsed
* WTC-7 was little touched by fire and suddenly collapsed
Whatever the truth of 9/11, it is too horrible to accept. The main problem is this sad story is emotional and psychological at the scale of the World.
What's ironic is most headlines refuse to say what the controversy Van Jones is actually in. Heaven for bid it might get the masses actually thinking. Better not mention it at all. LOL

This is absurd no matter what one's view of 911 may be. Armed revolt only occurs under conditions where a majority of the populace is already fed up. The Sandinistas could revolt at a time when most of Nicaragua was sick of Somoza. In the US the economic conditions since WWII have been rather good on balance and fewer people are inclined to greet armed rebellion the way that an average Nicaraguan in 1979 did. Under such conditions the only thing someone could do if they had suspicions about 911 is try to share them with other people without recklessly running mad with guns blazing. That is true independently of whether or not the suspicions are right or wrong.
