Van der Sloot confession excerpts: Says he hit and suffocated Stephany Flores after losing control

The Associated Press has obtained the shocking transcript of Joran van der Sloot’s confession regarding the murder of Peruvian woman, Stephany Flores, 21.

Van der Sloot, who’s the prime suspect in the 2005 Aruban disappearance of teenager Natalee Holloway, 18, gave his confession in Dutch, which was translated into Spanish by a translator from the Dutch Embassy. The AP translated the Dutchman’s confession into English.

Van der Sloot, 22, met Stephany at a Lima casino and at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 30 the two left for his hotel to play Internet poker. He said:

"We went to my room and played poker on my laptop, and at that time I opened my e-mail and saw a message saying, 'I'm going to kill you, you little Mongoloid,' referring to the 'Holoway (sic) case' ... "

The Dutch national claims he told Stephany he’d been arrested as a suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, but after hearing his explanation, Stephany struck him “on the left side” of his head “with her fist.”

He continued:

"In that moment I impulsively hit her with my right elbow in the face exactly on the nose. There was a lot of blood all over the place. I think that she was half fainting. It affected me so much that I took her by the neck with both hands and I strangled her for a minute. At that moment I thought, 'What am I doing?' I got up thinking, 'What can I do now?' and I also had blood on my shirt. There was also blood on the bed so I took my shirt, placed it on her face pressing hard until I killed Stephany ..."

Van der Sloot said he finally killed Stephany because:

"She hit me in the head. I lost control of my actions, I didn't know what I was doing. I remember what I was doing but not the motive. It was an impulsive act after receiving a blow to the head."

He then confessed to not really understanding why he killed Stephany.

When asked why he fled Peru and headed to Chile after the crime, van der Sloot said:

"I wasn't thinking clearly. The only thing I wanted was to leave the scene of the crime as quickly as possible and afterward leave the country ..."

He then went on to provide details about the killing saying:

"She was on the bed when I hit her hard with my right elbow and I think her head went back and hit the wall, then she begins to bleed, immediately I get on top of her and with both hands I begin to strangle her, keeping her that way for a minute. After that, I throw her to the floor but she keeps breathing. At that moment I take off my shirt and put it on her face, pressing on it. I don't remember for how long but she stops breathing, in this way I think I caused her death."

Amphetamines were found in Stephany’s body during her autopsy and van der Sloot was asked if he had given them to her, to which he replied “No.”

He also said while at the casino he drank Cola mixed with whiskey, and Stephany drank wine. “I drank about 10 drinks starting at 6 p.m.," said van der Sloot.

The Washington Post reports that when he was asked if he had anything to add to his confession, van der Sloot said:

"I wish to talk about the Natelle Holoway (sic) case from five years ago and the possibility that if this trial goes quickly and fluidly it could be possible for me to be extradited to Aruba. I wish to discuss the case but not at the moment. It's a case that is years old and I would prefer to speak with the Aruban police and if there is the possibility of closing the case I would be ready to clarify the case ..."

Because he has a penchant for boasting and lying about Natalee's case, Aruban authorities are skeptical that van der Sloot can provide any further truthful information regarding the missing Alabama teen.

Prior to his confession to Peruvian police regarding Stephany's murder, he reportedly told Chilean police thieves waiting in his hotel room killed the young woman.

This man is a pig and I hope he enjoys rotting in that disgusting little jail, he deserves everything that is coming to him. I hope he suffers greatly for his acts. I have no sympathy or empathy for him. He is a horrible human being and I hope he lives a very long life that is full of suffering.

I must be the only one who see this confession as fiction made up by the Peruvian authorities. It is so obvious that Joron was coerced in to signing this bogus confession. I believe this because the whole premise of the murder MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Yes, it is a senseless murder but the case has so many holes in it that it's Swiss cheese. It's true that if people hate a person for one thing, anything negative ascribed to that hated person from then on is easily believed by the public.

WOW! What rock have you been living under? He is a suspect in another murder, he was seen going into his hotel room with this woman, he comes out alone, she is found dead in this room, what else do you need? I guess you believe there is a Santa Claus too?

Wow.. What rock have you been living under. It was only a matter of time before he would screw up and get caught. I suppose the $250,000.00 he was trying to get out of Halloway's parents is a made up story as well, or the fact that he used a portion of the $25,000 payment from making up lies about where Halloway's body was buried to get to Peru. You might want to review the facts and this mans past reputation before you step up to defend him. Have you not seen the video of him leaving her room, setting up his alibi on camera? How many woman does he have to murder before you realize he is a cold calculated killer? Only now that he is in a nasty jail is he willing to give any truthful details to the authorities in lieu of him being taken to Aruba. Being that his father was a judge do you think that did not buy him special treatment when he was in jail in Aruba with his steak dinners and name brand sportswear? The truth will come to light, just keep watching and reading.
