There were as many t-shirts that read “Vampires” as those that read “Wolves.” Others simply sported the faces of Edward, Bella, and Jacob. There were pictures – autographed and not – posters, jewelry, and contact lenses the color of gold. On Sunday, hundreds of people sat in the auditorium to listen to actors Kellan Luts and Peter Facinelli - Emmett and Carlisle Cullen respectively in the Twilight saga movies - talk about their experiences on set and answer audience's questions. Such was the weekend at the LAX Marriott where the Official Twilight Convention, organized by Creation Entertainment, was held this past Saturday and Sunday.
This was the Los Angeles stop of a convention that is still to travel to Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and several other cities in the U.S. The L.A. convention at once awakened excitement for the third movie of the saga, Eclipse, due to come out June 2010. Clips of the sure to be a blockbuster film were a prominent part of the event.
For the hardcore Twilight fans the weekend was the perfect occasion to purchase mementos, play trivia games, and participate in costume contests with hundreds of others just as interested in the romantic world of sparkling bodies versus furry beasts.
