Nina Dobrev is no stranger to fans of The Vampire Diaries, which airs on Channel 6 in Scottsdale. However, the actress has just signed on for a new movie role. Collider reported on Friday that Dobrev joined the cast of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The cast already includes Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and Mae Whitman. That film will be seen in Scottsdale theaters once it is released.
Summit Entertainment is bringing this project to the big screen. The film centers on Lerman's character, a 15-year-old teenager named Charlie that is coping with first love, the death of his best friend, and mental illness on his part. The film is based on the book of the same name by Stephen Chbosky.
Nina Dobrev is by no means a new actress, but Vampire Diaries brought her into the spotlight. On that CW series, she plays two characters, Elena and Katherine. Week after week, fans witness her tackling the dual role.
Fans on Twitter are already responding to Nina's addition to the cast today. One fan tweeted the following: "omg perks is going to be so INCREDIBLE. logan lerman, emma watson, nina dobrev!"
