Ian Somerhalder, the hunky "Vampire Diaries" star, admitted that he almost stole Grumpy Cat when he first met the adorable feline, a report claimed on Friday, March 15.
The animal-loving actor, who can be seen every Thursday on the CW's popular teen vampire show, said he was immediately taken with the now famous scowling cat, People magazine reported.
"She's precious," Ian told the magazine of the cute female cat, "One gaze into those beautiful bue eyes of hers and she's got you." The 32-year-old Louisiana native added that he had a very hard time parting with Grumpy Cat, who actually had "52 million mentions in one 24 hour period" on Twitter.
"I almost stole her," Ian joked, "It was pretty awesome," and claimed that the cat's owner offered him her phone number in case he wanted to see Grumpy Cat again in the future...
"The mom gave me a card and it's a picture of her smiling," Ian said, "Grumpy Cat is a wing woman."
Great way to snatch a date with fan-favorite Ian! Unfortunate for her, however, Ian is already taken by his "Diaries" co-star, Nina Dobrev, although the couple tries hard to keep their relationship on the down-low.
