The search for the vampirism cure will continue when “The Vampire Diaries” returns from its holiday hiatus. On Wednesday, The CW released a few spoilers to let viewers know what’s coming up on the hit drama.
In “Catch Me If You Can,” Klaus (Joseph Morgan) attempts to manipulate Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) into doing what he wants by threatening Matt’s (Zach Roerig) life. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tries to help Jeremy prepare for his faceoff with Klaus’s new vampires, but Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) foils their plan. Kol makes it clear that he will stop at nothing to convince everyone to give up on finding the cure.
Kol is not the only Original vampire with a plan. Rebekah (Claire Holt) turns to Stefan (Paul Wesley) and reminds him that they used to be friends once as she tries to get him to team up with her. Meanwhile, Elena (Nina Dobrev) negotiates with Klaus to keep Jeremy safe, but soon realizes her brother faces danger from an unexpected enemy.
“The Vampire Diaries” returns Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. CST on The CW. “Catch Me if You Can” will air Jan. 24.
