"The Vampire Diaries" will air an all-new episode on Channel 6 in Tempe later tonight. On Wednesday, March 20, Spoilers Guide shared the latest comments made by Joseph Morgan about the potential spin-off series set for the CW. The pilot for "The Originals" has been filmed, and Joseph Morgan has teased the plot of the series in a new interview. The spin-off will star Morgan, Phoebe Tonkin, and Daniel Gillies, and fans saw the characters played by Morgan and Tonkin hop into bed on the last "Vampire Diaries" episode. Will fans see more of Klaus and Hayley on the new series? Morgan teased the following about the pair and the series, according to Spoilers Guide:
"Because we were the first people cast — myself, Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin — it’s easy to assume that it’ll be a love triangle with Haley and the two brothers, but it’s something so utterly different. That would be a cheap shot to have a carbon copy of The Vampire Diaries, which [the spin-off] really isn’t."
CW has not yet picked up the spin-off series. The backdoor pilot for the spin-off will air on April 25. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
