There are some big changes to Elena's character coming during the next two episodes, and E! Online shared the latest comments made by Ian Somerhalder about those changes. He plays Damon on the CW series, and these changes will have an impact on his character. Her humanity being turned off has definitely changed things. Somerhalder said the following, according to the site:
"Now she's a bada** and she can crack jokes. Every time she walks out of the house we're not biting our nails thinking someone is going to come kill her. She can fight for herself."
As for the cure, the search for it continues, but now it is a search for Katherine as well. She now has the cure. According to CarterMatt, Rebekah, who is played by Claire Holt, is still involved in the search for the cure.
