"The Vampire Diaries" returns to the CW January 17, 2013 with the episode titled "After School Special" and fans can't get enough of the season spoilers. Jeremy's story continues to escalate when Klaus tries to control him by using Matt (one of the few remaining humans left of the group). This threat infuriates him and as a new hunter this creates another Klaus enemy in his long long list. Damon becomes Jeremy's coach as the new hunter plans to take on Klaus' new vampires. Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic guest star) beats them to the punch. Kol attempts to get the message across that everyone needs to stop searching for the cure. Rebekah tries to re-establish a friendship with Stefan. Shane is brought in for questoning by Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Hopkins regarding his involvement in the Founder's Councilmen deaths. Bonnie joins the questioning and Shane's responses drive Bonnie to the brink in regards to her powers. Elena tries to negotiate safety for her brother Jeremy with Klaus but danger from an unexpected enemy causes Elena to devise her own daring plan.
