Stefan Salvatore is one of the main characters of "The Vampire Diaries" and is also a fan favorite. After the crazy season finale, viewers are wondering what is going to happen with him when the vampire series returns. On May 21, TV Line posted some "TVD" spoilers on what to expect from Stefan in the upcoming season.

There has been speculation that Stefan and Caroline will start a romance. This was teased when Lexi would talk to Stefan about the two being a potential couple. Last season, the two became close. Viewers remember when they were at the Travelers camp and as they lay down, Caroline lay her head on Stefan. It wasn't the fact that she did it, it was how she snuggled up close to him and had that big smile on her face.

Actor Paul Wesley seemed to confirm a romance, but it has not been revealed if it will happen in "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 premiere, in the middle of the season or towards the end. He joked that Caroline and Stefan need to just jump into getting intimate right away. As for Elena having a hard time dealing with it, Nina Dobrev said that she thinks her character will find a way to be okay with it.

TV Guide reported that executive producer Julie Plec stated that season 6 will be a "character-defining journey" for Stefan Salvatore. He is going to have to decide when to stop looking for answers and fans can expect to see him change even more. The question is how much will he change and will those changes be for the better or not?

What do you think will happen in "The Vampire Diaries" season 6? Do you think Stefan and Caroline would be good together? What kind of changes do you think he will go through when the show returns to CW?
