'Vampire Diaries' season 5, episode 16: Spoilers for 'While You Were Sleeping'

There are a lot of different storylines on "The Vampire Diaries" lately, but that is what makes a television show even more interesting. Is there a reason why the storylines are branched out? According to a March 11 report by International Business Times, those multiple stories are going to mesh into one huge event on "The Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 16.

The episode is titled "While You Were Sleeping" and a leaked synopsis reveals that Stefan will have to tell Elena what went on during the time that Katherine was inside Elena's body. This includes telling her about being poisoned with werewolf venom and that Damon was injected with a serum that causes vampires to feed on others of their kind. Damon is currently chained up and is still thinking up a way to explain to his about Aaron's death.

Caroline is going to go through the files of Dr. Wes, but it seems that a "frightening secret" may cause more problems for the group. However, Enzo might have the answer. He arranges to meet Stefan and Caroline at a mysterious location and they are joined by Dr. Wes' benefactor, Sloan as well as a group of the Travelers. It turns out that Sloan may have some new information on the importance of doppelgangers.

Elena will run into Luke, but has no memory of him. He has broken off with his boyfriend and wants to spend spring break getting drunk with Elena. However, she sends him on a mission to find Bonnie and Liv, the new witch.

It is being reported that the last few minutes of "The Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 16 are important. After Damon confesses to his deeds, he and Elena will have a new agreement in regards to their relationship.

"The Vampire Diaries" 5x16 is not airing this Thursday, but fans can catch the next episode, "While You Were Sleeping" on March 20.
