February 3, 2012 - The extended promo for The Vampire Diaries episode Dangerous Liaisons is out and it's going to be one big ballroom war!
When Klaus (Joseph Morgan) decides to host an elegant formal dance at his new mansion, he invites everyone to join in on the fun with his newly "un-daggered" family. However, it doesn't take one second for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and the gang to figure out Klaus is up to something.

With Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) as her dates/chaperones, Elena goes to the ball with her friends to see what it is all about. Once there, she learns of some terrible intel on what is about to go down during the ball.
As expected, the party eventually turns to an all out war, where fights break out and Damon is seen flinging a man over a balcony.

Oh! And no, we didn't forget about the Caroline and Klaus interaction that will be happening at the ball in addition to all the mayhem. Is the sweet vampire part of Klaus' plan, or does he really have a soft spot for her?
Then, while not necessarily shown in the promo, we are surely going to learn more information on the Original Mother/Original Witch in this episode too. How did she stay alive in the coffin for 1000 years if she's not a vampire? Who sealed her in there to begin with? And most importantly, what's the mother of all bloodsuckers really up to?
