Salida Art Works Council for the Arts will host for “Valley Visions” All-Arts All Day Closing Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Salida Steam Plant Event Center, at 220 W. Sackett Street. Music of local musicians will be featured in the Steam Plant Ballroom, including Ed Berg, Ed Lambert, Justin Allison, David Tipton, Steve Smalzel, Greg Walter and Terri Dunn, with a concluding Jam Session with cinnamon rolls and runzas.

Workshops offered in the Steam Plant Annex include “A Thesaurus walks into a bar” writing workshop with Barbara Ford, an airbrush demo with William Body, “The Story of Making Wine” with Steve Flynn, and acoustic guitar building with Jeff Bamburg. In the Paquette Gallery, a children’s workshop will be offered with Pj Bergin, where children ages 5 to 12 can make their own geode to take home.

There will also be performances in the theatre, including the Salida Circus, “I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change” by the Stage Left Theatre Company, CALLIOPE!, Shavano Poets, River City Nomads, River Tribe and the High School SLAM Poetry Team and Annie Deveney, as well as the announcement of the People’s Choice Award Winners.

You can help support local artists and the Salida Art Works Council for the Arts with ticket purchase. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and children under 5 are free. Pre-registration for workshops is required, at The Book Haven, 135 F Street, in Salida or call 719-539-9629.
