Valley Ring Announcer, Ralph Velez Jr. was featured in a short film by Jesus Beltran with Zumpango Films. The film was previewed at a special screening recently in San Francisco and received great reviews. Beltran has had his work featured at the Sundance Film Festival, and was recognized for his style in filmmaking.
Twenty Bucks is a short film written and directed by Jesus Beltran. Born in Ft. Worth, Beltran started Zumpango Films and is a master at narrative filmmaking. He now resides in California, and stays busy making short films, music videos and commercials.
The film portrays an unemployed father, faced with the trails and tribulations of raising his daughter the right way in a difficult world.
It seems to be working just fine until a confrontation with a neighbor played by Ralph Velez Jr. goes wrong. Velez Jr. plays the part like a natural and had little time to prepare for his role, but pulled it off like a veteran.
The movie stars Jerry McDaniel, Kenyon McMichael, Ralph G. Velez Jr., and Evelyn Moore Hicks.
2012 was an amazing year for Velez Jr., ring announcing and most recently, appointed Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Canadian based Fanbase Promotions.
Velez Jr. says he is expecting a busy year in 2013 and also says he is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
