Valley Fight Series returns to Reedley (Photos)

Mixed Martial Arts action returns to Reedley, California Saturday April 6, 2013. Valley Fight Series will present 10 exciting bouts featuring a main event showdown between John Mathison of Kingsburg and Miguel Lopez of Orange Cove. The undercard is a re-match between Reedley’s Gerardo Garcia and Hanford’s Joseph Coronado. The two engaged in an epic battle last year which resulted in Knockout victory for Coronado.

Jordan Urbano, promoter of Valley Fight Series is planning a series of events leading up to the show. Doors will be open to the public to view the pre-fight weigh-ins. Also, as part of the charitable component to the promotion a special fundraiser will take place to raise funds for war veteran Geoffrey Quevedo. Valley Fight Series will sell lunch plates with proceeds going to the family of Quevedo. “Giving back to the community is very important to us,” stated Urbano. “Our last fight we generated 2,500 meals for Feeding America and we want to use our promotion as a platform for charitable giving, helping the Quevedo family is the right thing to do.” Valley Fight Series will host the fundraiser to help the family of Quevedo with the cost of travel associated with visiting the soldier who is taking part in physical therapy and surgeries away from his family located in the Central Valley.
