Valley boxer and fan favorite, Joe Martell (2-9, 2 KOs) announced that he will be fighting Wilber Lopez (1-2) on the Iron Boy card scheduled for November, at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix.
He may only have two wins, but don't let his record fool you. Martell has been on the short end of the stick when it comes to his losses, he was robbed on a few of his fights. Wilber Lopez is a young fighter who shows promise, he has two losses as a pro, but is learning from every fight.
Entering the game of boxing at a late age, Martell quickly picked up his skills as a fighter and made do with what he had. He never quits, sometimes he takes a beating, but as far as determination and heart, Martell is a champion.
Growing up on the rough side of El Paso, Martell has had his share of troubles, but he turned it around and is making a difference.
