The annual Thanksgiving holiday is the traditional kick-off date for all-things-holiday-inspired. And for folks who like to decorate their homes with lights, it's the traditional signal to start firing on all cylinders.
While many Vallejo residents string up a few lights and position a cheery Christmas tree in their front window, there are a few folks who take it to the max. Earlier this month we put the word out for locations where you can find the most extravagant displays.
One reader shared a link to a Vallejo Times Herald article that features Vallejo resident Bob Taylor's elaborate display, located at 817 Old Glen Cove Road in Vallejo's Glen Cove area. In its 14th year, Taylor started this ritual as a way of coping with his daughter's accidental death. Another reader shared that there are quite a few holiday light-embellished homes in the Glen Cove area so a drive-through this neighborhood should deliver up a delightful nighttime excursion.
We also heard from Sam Crow who lives in the Grant Mahoney district. He wrote us:
I have a Christmas light show with over 5000 lights that play to music! Tune to 100.5 fm and watch the show! I currently have about 40 minutes of music! The show starts at 530 til 10 nightly! My home is located at 288 Moorland St."
Crow has also mounted a couple of videos at his Facebook page of his music and light extravaganza.
Give us a shout below (in the comments section) if you find some holiday decorations around town worth sharing...We'd like to hear about them.
