Valerie Harper stars in premiere of 'Signed, Sealed and Delivered' on Hallmark

Actress Valerie Harper is guest starring in the premiere of "Signed, Sealed and Delivered," a new series on Hallmark Channel on April 20, 2014, according to media announcement from Hallmark. The regular cast includes Eric Mabius, Crystal Lowe and Geoff Gustafson.

"Signed, Sealed and Delivered" is about team of post office employees who work in the dead letter office. The become postal detectives, looking for the recipients of the long-delayed letters and often delivering them just in time.

Valerie Harper plays a legendary post office supervisor who makes a grand entrance in time to oversee the postal detectives as the unravel a mystery behind a young boy whose life in in danger.

In the series premiere, "Time To Start Livin’," Oliver (Eric Mabius, "How to Fall in Love") leads the postal detective team as they investigate a letter from a ten-year-old boy who has been separated from his grandmother. The boy is alerting his grandmother that he is running away.

The team from the Dead Letter Office, Shane (Kristin Booth), Rita (Crystal Lowe) and Norman (Geoff Gustafson) is preparing for the arrival of a new supervisor.

Theresa Capodiamonte (Valerie Harper) is the larger-than-life supervisor, who challenges them to take greater risks to deliver the seemingly undeliverable letters and packages. Theresa supports the team as they unravel clues that reveal the boy’s life is in danger, and they go the extra mile to find the intended recipient of his letter.

Theresa realizes that she has a lifelong dream and makes her first steps to pursue the long-neglected dream, taking a risk of her own.

Valerie Harper is best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern in the 1970s sitcoms "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and spinoff "Rhoda." Harper garnered critical acclaim and four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, leading to a successful and long career on stage and screen, and securing her place in television and in the hearts of American viewers.

Valerie Harper made headlines in early 2013 when she announced a terminal brain cancer diagnosis. Harper has continued to perform, defying the odds. She performed as a contestant on ABC’s“Dancing with the Stars.” In September, she reunited with several women from the original cast of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” including Mary Tyler Moore, Cloris Leachman, Betty White and Georgia Engel, to guest-star on the TV Land series “Hot in Cleveland.” bringing them all together on the same set for the first time in 30 years. "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" features a rotating cast of guest stars in the supervisor role. In addition to Harper, guest stars for the first season include: comedian Dick Van Dyke ("The Dick Van Dyle Show"), Marilu Henner ("Taxi,"), Della Reese ("Touched by an Angel") and Valerie Bertinelli ("Hot in Cleveland").
