This season of 'Dancing With the Stars' has been one of the most inspirational in the show's history. With a strong cast, stories of hope, and a broad variety of backgrounds, viewers have been glued to their television screens. However, one of the fan favorites was sent home on Monday, October 7.
Valerie Harper fought it out as long as she could, but after suffering another low score of 18 points, her 'DWTS' journey has now ended. The inspirational 74-year-old star chose to dance despite her struggle with brain cancer.
"It has been absolutely wonderful," she said with a tear.
"Completely unique. Like nothing else in the world that you would ever do. And it was an opportunity for me to carry a message to folks, not just with cancer, but with whatever challenge, like our song tonight — carry on, carry on." She then joked, "Carrie Ann! Carrie Ann!"
Her partner MacManus added, "Maybe me life was a little bit better since I met Valerie Harper."
"It's really a great thing to get out and dance!" she said.
In other, 'DWTS' news, Julianne Hough filled in for Len Goodman on the judging panel. She was surprisingly tough along with the other judges.
Though Amber Riley struggled with bad knees throughout rehearsal time, she was still among the leader board. Riley and Hough earned 27 points. Also, earning 27 points was Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff, along with Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy.
There was also a quadruple tie in the 24 range: Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke, Christina Milian and Mark Ballas, Snooki and Sasha Farber, and Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani all shared this category.
Nearly bottoming out in the 21 point slot was Bill Engvall and Emma Slater, along with Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd.
Now that Harper has been eliminated, who do you think is next? Bill Engvall or Brant Daugherty possibly? What do you think of this season so far? Have the judges been fair?
