Atlanta haute couture trend followers and fashionistas, partners Giancarlo Giammetti and Valentino Garavani were the proud hosts of the Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum Launch party at the IAC Headquarters on December 7, 2011 in New York City.
The Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum chronicles five decades of Valentino’s work as fashion designer. A download of the Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum gives you, the user, 10,000 square meters of fashion – a library containing 5,000 images of dresses, photographs and couture drawings and 180 fashion show videos, seven different galleries including the 7-roomed “Themes and Variations” which breaks down Valentino’s work into its fabric choices of reds, black and whites, animal prints, embroidery and “Very Valentino,” which is a retrospective from the 1960s to the 2000’s.
There is also a “Masterclass with Valentino” where the designer himself mentors you on creating some of his most famous couture dresses, using Natalia Vodianova as the model. Sounds like a must-have for any serious fashionista with a “passion for fashion!”
Among the many A-listers attending the launch party – and people were dressed to impress! – were dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing With the Stars, Lizzie Grubman, Izabel Goulart, Hamish Bowles, Angela Ismilos (what a lovely beige dress – very much on-trend!), China Chow (an unusual front bustle on the skirt portion of her dress!), Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa, designers Yigal Azrouel and Richard Chai, Zani Gugelmann (a gorgeous deep maroon gown with circular motif), Olivia Palermo, Johannes Huebl, Drena De Niro, Stephanie Pratt, Courtney Love in LBD (loved the LBD!), Andrew Saffir, Rachel Zoe (wow – what an amazing kaftan!), Daphne Guinness (in grey getup – very avant garde!), Claire Danes – that was a lovely red lace dress, Claire Danes, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.
