Bowling at Liberty in the Valentine’s Weekend Doubles Tournament on February 11th, they were able to payout 15 places. First place went to Don Goldade & Jason Hurd - 1500, second place to Shaun Goucher & Greg Ickes 1483, and third place to Charles Floyd & Greg Ferguson with a 1454. Other places were only separated by pins….. where fifteenth place finished with a 1378.
Then on Sunday, February 12th, Seminole Lanes had their 7th Annual Sweethearts Doubles Tournament where Patricia Williams & Tony Brooks had a 1480 to capture first place in the tournament. Second place went to Andrea Sanchez & Mike Crosby 1425, and third place went to Stefanie Smith-Ewing & Shaun Goucher with a 1386. Looks like Shaun Goucher was at both centers entering and winning some extra cash over the weekend. Ladies singles winner went to Patricia Williams 748 & the Men’s went to Shaun Rohl with a 767.
The 48th Annual Dot Ronnie Ladies Scratch Doubles Tournament was held at Pin Chasers on January 29th. Some of our bowlers were there. Jessica Whistler 10th place with a 1706 in singles, and Jessica & Kimberly Slater came in 2nd place in doubles with a 3303. High doubles winners Jessica & Kimberly placed twice with a 489 & 490. Other ladies from our area that went out and bowled were Tiffany Crosby, Darlene Milton, Sallie Hayes, Gillian Dean, Tammy Weber, Robin Hintz, Cathy Walter & Mildred Crosby. The tournament is held the weekend before Superbowl weekend.
Gulf Coast USBC is having their Youth Championship tournament at Sunrise Lanes this coming weekend, February 18 & 19th. Walk INS are welcomed. Entry forms are available on their website www.gcusbc.org . On March 10 & 11th is the OPEN Championship tournament at Ten Pin Lanes. For a guaranteed spot in the tournament you need to get your entry to Gulf Coast by March 3. This is a walk in tournament, but since Ten Pins is a small house, early entry will guarantee you a spot in the tournament.
