Valentines Day activities in Philly

Valentines Day may be considered a Hallmark holiday, but there are plenty of things to do in Philly that don’t include a greeting card purchase. Here are some fun ways to celebrate the holiday whether you are in a relationship or not.

The Love Letter Tour
Take a ride on the El through the Market Street corridor in West Philly and learn about the 2009 Mural Arts Love Letter project by renowned artist Stephen Powers. A Mural Arts Program tour guide will talk about the Love Letter project as well as other murals you see along the way.
Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday, year round
Times: Saturday 10 – 11:30 am & Sunday 1:00 – 2:30 pm

Valentine to the Market at Reading Terminal Market
Reading Terminal Market is hosting their annual Valentines event on Saturday February 23 from 7-8 p.m. There will be over 40 vendors serving dinner and desserts, as well as cocktails from a variety of open bars. Enjoy live entertainment throughout the evening.
Tickets are available online. Prices rise after Valentine’s Day.
When: Saturday, February 23, 7-11 p.m.
Where: Reading Terminal Market, 51 N 12th Street
Cost: $125 in advance, $150 after Valentine’s Day, $100 for 10 or more tickets, $75 for ages 21-35, $300 for patron tickets

Fairmount Anti-Valentine’s Day Bar Crawl
So your not falling for the valentines hype. As a matter-of-fact you protest the made up holiday and refuse to celebrate. Well have we got an event for you. Enjoy your independence at the Fairmount
Anti-Valentine’s Day Bar Crawl and from 7 p.m.-midnight head out to eight participating Fairmount bars and pay $5 to get Lei’ed, You lei guarantees you access to all participating bars and to specials that are being served.

This event is a fundraiser for Project H.O.M.E.

Also check out Valentines Day Singles Fun Run in Philly hosted by Philadelphia Runner’s, a sneaker and running gear store that has shops throughout the Philadelphia area. The 3 mile run starts and ends at the Center City location followed by a party at Ladder 15 after. A $30 registration fee is required.
