Valentines and parent appreciation with involvement

Valentines Day is a great time for the staff at childcare centers to show appreciation for the parents who have children enrolled in the center. Directors and teachers/caregivers often have a Parent Appreciation lunch or special activity during the year, but it is often done at the end of the year. The director at Primrose Childcare Center in the Lakewood Ranch area of Sarasota has implemented a unique way to show the parents that they are appreciated with the 14 Days of Love Giveaway that is currently in progress.

The 14 Days of Love Giveaway also provides parents with a way to be involved with the daily activities of the center for these 14 days in February. Each day for 14 days Primrose will be showing appreciation for the parents by giving a gift that they feel will make parents' lives easier. A blog post will be written each day to announce the gift for the day. Parents have the opportunity to log in to the blog post and add a comment to the blog as to what they appreciate about Primrose Childcare Center. The parent's comment gives them the opportunity to win the prize for the day. This provides the staff and directors an opportunity get to know parents who may not participated in any of the activities for parent involvement with their child's center. The most creative comments will be considered for the winner of the day.

A random winner will be selected for the gift of the day and will be announced by 9:00 p.m. the following day.

This unique way of showing appreciation for parents is a winning opportunity for childcare staff and parents with 14 Days of Love being shown to all participants.

Check out the included video for a great homemade valentine cookie recipe to make for your childcare center on the special day. Great for placing in the Parent Check-In area for the day.
