Valentine's Week at Umstead: Herons five-course, wine-paired dinner awaits

For those looking to indulge in an extra-special Valentine’s dinner outing, Herons, The Umstead’s signature Forbes Five Star restaurant, is serving a five-course, wine-paired tasting menu for the romantic occasion all week long, prepared by Executive Chef Scott Crawford.

February 11-16, Herons’ diners can delight in Rappahannock River Oysters, Purple Yam Soup, Butter Poached Lobster, and Natural Meyers Beef, complete with a decadent Milk Chocolate Custard for dessert, plus the option to enhance each course with a complementing wine-pairing.

For those who’d like to make a night of their festivities, The Umstead Hotel and Spa’s overnight Valentine’s Package includes accommodation of choice, plus a sweet treat of chocolate dipped strawberries served with a half bottle of sparkling in-room. To make the most of their stay, guests can explore the scenic grounds of The Umstead’s woodland pond setting, peruse the in-house art collection, or indulge in a couple’s spa treatment to ensure their Valentine’s retreat is a memorable one.
