MY FURRY VALENTINE - The Dumb Friends League will the featured non-profit animal charity on Feb. 10 at Tagawa Gardens in Centennial. The new event will include artists and vendors of pet-related services and products. It is being co-sponsored by Paws & Read magazine.
You can get a Valentine photo of your pup (for a donation) by TYE Photography and TQ photography, and a dog massage for a donation. There will be dancing dogs, a local artist showcase of pet art, dog training demos, gourmet treats for dogs available for sampling and a pet communicator, as well a parade of adoptable pets from the Dumb Friends League.
There is no admission. Events start at 10 a.m. For more information, call 303 690 4722.
MORE VALENTINES - This Valentine's Day, you can honor a pet, friend, coworker, family member or significant other by making a donation to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in their honor. Your gift will help homeless animals receive the care they need while they wait to find their new homes. When you give, a special Valentine e-card will be sent to the person to notify them of your gift. Information.
PETS ON PARADE - Shelter animals from the Evergreen Animal Protection League will be available Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bergen Park King Soopers, 1173 Bergen Parkway. To take a pet home from the event, please be sure to complete an application on-line at http://www.eapl.com/edit_adopter.php and have it pre-approved by one of the League's adoption volunteers.
''FUN-RAISING" PARTY- The event is scheduled 6:30-9:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Great Frame Up, 430 Main St., Longmont. It will benefit three non-profits, Longmont Humane Society, Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) and Via.
Blooming in Boulder County, an event planning organization, is hosting a the party that will feature live music, dancing, finger food and professional entertainers including blues keyboardist Bruce Delaplain and by Danelle Helander and Sean Owens of Helander Dance Theater. Helander and Owens will perform four pieces interspersed throughout the evening combining dance, performance art and comedy.
The $45 admission includes two drink tokens ($10 value). A silent auction features a San Francisco vacation package for two including five nights lodging and airport transportation (excludes airfare). Longmont Humane will receive $15 of every ticket purchased through this link.
