Valentine’s Day is upon us, and Washingtonians have a plethora of options for celebrating this special day for lovers of all ages. Here are a few:
Chef Bens of Juniper (2401 M St. NW<, 202-457-5020) in the Fairmont Hotel is creating a special five-course dinner on February 14, 15 and 16, which includes oysters, lobster salad, loin of venison and strawberries. Dinner is priced at $75 per person, or $110 with wine pairings.
Pearl Oyster Palace (1612 14th St.NW, 202-319-1612) is offering special entrees and a dessert, as well as Champagne specials and red roses for each table in the dining room. Along with the reglar menu, Valentine’s specials include sea scallops with wild mushroom risotto and red wine chocolate and goat cheese mousse cake.
Don’t forget Co Co. Sala (929 F St. NW, 202-347-4265), where Valentine’s Day will be celebrated with a six-course “seduction,” a chocolate filled menu priced at $90 per person.
If you prefer celebrating the occasion at home, Legal Sea Foods (www.legalseafoods.com) is offering two special promotion packages through February 14th. Valentine’s Day Combo No. 1 consists of two 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pound live lobster, one pound of fresh shrimp cocktail, a quart of New England clam chowder and two individual Boston cream pies. When ordered with the item code VDAY1 and the price promotion code BM122F, the price is $112. The second package includes the same lobsters plus two six-ounce filet mignon steaks, a quart of lobster bisque, two individual chocolate truffle cakes, for the price of $115 when ordered with the item code VDAY2 and price code BM122F. Lobsters can be ordered cooked at no extra charge.
