There's still time to take your sweetie out to dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day. Here are some options in Washington and in the suburbs:
Beginning this evening and running until Valentine's Day on Tuesday, 901 Restaurant & Bar (901 9th St. NW, 202/524-4433) is offering a four-course pix-fixe, shared menu for $69 per couple.
The special four-course menu at Ris (2275 L St. NW, 202/730-2500) includes lobster bisque, filet of beef and creme brulee. The menu is priced at $65; $95 with wine or beer pairings, and is available beginning this weekend through the 14th.
Station 4 in the Southwest waterfront (1101 4th St. SW, 202/488-0987), is offering a three course special dinner, priced at $75 from 5 to 11 p.m. on Valentine's Day. Beef short ribs ravioli and a version of crepes Suzette are on the menu.
An Italian three-course Valentine's menu will be the highlight of the evening at La Tomate (1701 Connecticut Ave., NW, 202/667-5505). Priced at $38 per person, the menu includes a veal chop, calamari and an apple tart among a variety of choices.
Hank's Oyster Bar (1624 Q St, NW) and Agora (1527 17th St. NW), both in Dupont Circle East, are offering special dishes on the 14th, such as freshly shucked oysters paired with lobsters at Hank's and scallops over saffron yogurt and panna cotta rice pudding at Agora.
The four-course Valentine's Day menu at Ardeo-Bardeo (3311 Connecticut Ave. NW, 202/244-6750), is priced at $65 per person. Red and golden beets are on the menu, as well as oxtail risotto and salt-cured foie gras.
Juniper in the Fairmont Hotel (24th and M St., NW, 202/457-5020) is making its Valentine's Day specials available throughout the month of February. For $39 per person - $55 with wine pairings - guests can enjoy such dishes as butternut squash soup, braised pork loin, pumpkin seed and apple risotto and a Fairmont beehive tasting from the bees kept on the hotel's roof.
Valentine's Day at Michel (in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Tysons Corner (1700 Tysons Blvd. McLean, 703/744-3999) includes such dishes as yellowtail carpaccio, lobster, filet mignon and a chocolate heart for two. The prix-fixe menu, served from Saturday through Tuesday is priced at $95 per person.
The Grille at Morrison House (116 S. Alfred St., Alexandria, 703/838-8000) will serve a seven course dinner from today through the 14th, priced at $95. The tasting menu offers such delicacies as escargot profiteroles, artichoke pate, olive oil poached salmon an warm dark chocolate molten cake.
Bayou Bakery (1515 N Courthouse Road Arlington, 703/243-2410) will celebrate Valentine's Day with a "menage a trois" pudding, a combination of chocolate pudding, chantilly cream and red velvet crumbles.
